Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations)
 

CoastJet is registered by the New South Wales Government Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board to deliver the Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Flight Operations) AVI50408 to International or local students.

A specialist qualification for the aviation industry. Successful completion will require competency in units that relate to work defined as aligned at AQF Level 5. Qualifications should be structured to align with licensing and regulatory requirements applicable to Instrument Flight Operations.

Summary of Training
Requirements for completion of the qualification:
• a successful assessment of 8 mandatory units
plus
• a successful assessment of 1 out of 2 optional units

Mandatory Aeroplane Instrument Ratings:

• Operate and manage aircraft systems
• Conduct full instrument panel maneuvers
• Conduct limited instrument panel maneuvers
• Plan a navigation flight under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)
• Navigate aircraft – IFR
• Perform an instrument arrival
• Perform instrument departure - non published procedure
• Perform visual circling approach

Plus EITHER, • Perform non-directional (NDB) instrument approach

OR, • Perform VHF-omni directional radio range (VOR) instrument approach
