COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCES (CPL)
 The Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) is the basic requirement for anyone intending to pursue a career in aviation. The licence enables the holder to fly for hire or reward in aircraft on which they are endorsed.
The Commercial Pilot Licence minimum requirements are 150 hours of aeronautical experience which consists of:
• 50 hours dual training
• 70 hours as pilot in command
• 20 hours of cross country flight time as pilot in command
• 10 hours of Instrument flight time
Experience has shown that factors such as ability and continuity of flight training lead to marked differences in flight time required for individuals to reach the standard required.
The student must also hold a Class 1 medical and have a pass in all CPL theory subjects prior to the flight test.
The time required to obtain a Commercial Pilot Licence is approximately 25 weeks, subject to weather and theory completion. There are several different Commercial Pilot Licence options available, dependant on your preferred aircraft type and ratings you wish to include.
